I must have got a duff copy because the crackles on this just ruin it for me. The silence is silent. Whenever you're wondering which vinyl pressing to buy of this masterpiece: I had the 2011 Ba Da Bing and the 2012 Verve issues, but sold both of them again, because they weren´t quiet enough for me. Very little to no noise. But one sad fact: Badabing managed to include the very silent 4 seconds of guitar sound at the beginning of side 2 before the song "Taphead" starts. Minor surface noise is apparent in the first and final tracks of this record. On this polydor pressing this little piece of talk talk music is missing. Believe the negative reviews. Most quiet issue I heard and dynamics are great too in my opinion. Released with a black and white printed card inner with lyrics. This one is a keeper for me. Maybe its just my copy. Overall, flawed but don’t count it out unless you can’t abide by having any clicks. I had the same crackling/surface noise as many of you but a second cleaning worked wonders and now, the disc is very quiet and sounds excellent to me. Good pressing.
