I felt hugely, remarkably emotional at the prospect of taking her back, this poor caged creature. Jewell sincerely tries to tackle the subject of the family struggling from the weight of their loss, and it gives the book a little more heft. kind of feeling! I didn’t have a ton of expectations going into Then She Was Gone. I swear. If you’re looking for a mystery-thriller, here’s some I liked: The Silent Patient, In the Woods, The Woman in the Window. And her mother is beautiful and her mother is there. I think this is one of her more popular books and (based on the comments below) her other mystery novels seem to be similar, where there’s a mystery aspect to it, but she is focused on things like family dynamics as well.
