Handrail extensions required by 505.10.3 shall not be required on pool stairs. 503.5 Vertical Clearance. Ramps on accessible routes shall comply with 405. Signs shall not be required to comply with 810.6.1 and 810.6.2 where audible signs are remotely transmitted to hand-held receivers, or are user- or proximity-actuated. Cavities created by added kick plates shall be capped. Rapid and light rail stations, and commuter rail stations, as defined under criteria established by the Department of Transportation in 49 CFR 37.47 and 49 CFR 37.51, respectively. Where a forward reach is unobstructed, the high forward reach shall be 48 inches (1220 mm) maximum and the low forward reach shall be 15 inches (380 mm) minimum above the finish floor or ground. Each transfer step shall be 8 inches (205 mm) high maximum. If the telephone or device is in a closed compartment, the compartment door hardware shall comply with 309. Where spectators are expected to stand during events, spectators in wheelchair spaces shall be afforded lines of sight complying with 802.2.2. Call buttons and keypads shall be located within one of the reach ranges specified in 308, measured to the centerline of the highest operable part. Judges benches, clerks stations, bailiffs stations, deputy clerks stations, court reporters stations and litigants and counsel stations shall comply with 902.
