C. Given that the plot turns entirely on these absurd choices, the novel becomes laughably silly and irritating. Magnus is dead,we know that, and when his body is found the investigation ramps up.
The first third and the last third of this novel were well done.
This is a tale that certainly keeps you guessing as you become more emotionally entwined within the characters lives. Well, my hopes started to crash very quickly with the foreplay. Every time I read a Camilla Lackberg's book it has been a year since I've read the previous one. cant say if i loved it or hated it. It has it's flaws, but it is an interesting book to read. It doesn't take long for a little boy to disappear.
The answer to the mystery is cheesy, and the cliffhanger at the end is unrelated to the mystery and is like a bad soap opera.

They only have this one which was so annoying. A friend of Erica's , Christian, has written a book, The Mermaid. > Crime. This book picks up tidily from the her last one where left off and the main character from this book can be found acting oddly at the end of the last one, setting this up perfectly.

Interspersed amid the chapters is a story by an unknown character who tells the sad tale of his childhood and his parents' treatment of him, as well as the bullying he suffered at school. This potboiler of a novel is set in the small Swedish shipping town of Fjällbacka. Things take a sharp, dark turn when one of Christian's friends, Magnus, is found dead after a brief disappearance. I am a bit confused - this book was said to be new - coming out Sept 15 of this year - I ordered it on my kindle and was so excited - yet as I read it, it was very familiar...I looked a bit further and see that the book came out in 2012 and was sold as a paperback!

No catches, no fine print just unconditional book loving for your children with their favourites saved to their own digital bookshelf. With each new book in this series I'm positive she's reached the limit but she just keeps raising the bar!
That said, part of the reason I continue to read them is not for the mystery but for the continued drama between the main characters-Patrik and Erica and Erica's sister Anna.

As always, a highly complex and satisfying read without being too full of ghastly details. But when it becomes painful to keep reading, the reader must put the book down.

Sarah Murray I thought this book was very good, full of twists and turns and a perfect read for those who enjoy slightly darker young adult story lines. After leaving a message on Camilla's facebook page she responded that the next book will be out in September 2016. All four begin to get threatening letters, but only one knows the meaning of them. That being said, I think this book has been one of the best that I´ve read from Läckberg, and as usual, it was a pleasure!

Easier for me since I have read this series from the beginning so was at least familiar with many of the detectives and police officers. "Starred Review. She also has a gift for creating demented and flawed mothers-this is a continuous theme in her mysteries.

A multigenerational story about two families bound together by the tides of history. It's the sick mind of the boy whose thoughts appear between- within the sections printed in italics.
After seeing Camilla Lackberg on the UK television show `the TV book club' on channel 4, I already felt as a consequence of this very familiar with the author before I began to read her work and open the pages of the eagerly awaited new crime novel. As usual the murderer is not who might have guessed. Delilah Acworth, age 13 a beautifully crafted masterpiece of death and destruction.
Unfortunately, two things spoiled it for me. It contains flashbacks that help to structure the complex storyline, so that each current event ties in with a past event making chronological sense.
